What is Aqualyx?

Aqualyx is an injectable compound made from the deoxycholate family of acids.  Aqualyx is a non-invasive treatment that reduces stubborn fat.  The dissolving injections are a bile acid that is naturally found in human’s intestine, fat dissolving injection work by destroying the fat cells in the targeted areas.

Who’s an ideal candidate for Aqualyx?

Does Aqualyx actually work?

The treatment involves small injections of liquid fat dissolver AQUALYX into the soft fat and then the dissolving process starts.

The acid works to eliminate fat by breaking down the structure of the fat cells. Once broken down, fat cells are dissolved, or liquefied. Once it escapes the cell, the fatty liquid can then be easily burned as the body metabolizes it.  For small areas such as the jowls and chin, just one session can dramatically reduce fat deposits and return a more youthful and defined facial contour. For larger areas like tummies, you may need up to 6 sessions to see dramatic results.

What does Aqualyx Treatment feel like?

The area treated will be cleaned and a tropical anaesthetic may be applied for comfort.  Once Aqualyx is injected, the area will feel farm and you may experience a slight burning or stunning sensation.  Aqualyx contains local anaesthetic so it’s a comfortable procedure.

How many treatments will I need?

AQUALYX typically requires a course of three to five treatments, with four to six-week intervals between each session. Although the procedure doesn’t hurt, you should expect some swelling which can take up to three weeks to subside.

Recovery

Some clients may experience redness, swelling, tenderness, light bruising on treated areas, but this and any other side effects will usually resolve within a few days. Gentle massage to the area is advised.  You may need to take over the counter painkillers to control any pain-related side effects.   You will start to notice an improvement anywhere between 3 and 6 weeks, and could notice on-going improvements.
